On its website Southern Water says it’s “…investing £5.5 million to upgrade Portswood Wastewater Treatment Works in Portswood, Southampton.
“From late August 2017, we’ll be updating existing equipment,
decommissioning older units and installing a more effective odour
It says work is being carried out by Galliford Try and work should be finished in August 2019.
On its page about community grants, Southern Water says “…we recognise that sometimes our activities can cause disruption to the communities we serve,” and that it’s looking to “support the local communities who may have been affected by our activities”.
The company says it’s particularly keen to support projects which
focus on healthy lifestyles, the environment and education opportunities
within the electoral ward of Portswood - which includes St Denys.
