Portswood Recreation Ground pirate ship play equipment
It’s Portswood’s very own Community Festival on Saturday (May 13) from 11am-4pm in Portswood Recreation Ground, with free fun promised for all the family.

The festival will also be celebrating the people and history of Portswood and the Recreation Ground, and features the building of a Lego model of Portswood High Street from 1-3pm, and the construction of a “historic timeline of the Rec" (bring along your photos and memories to share).

There’s also a Vintage Café from 1pm, walking football and armchair aerobics, racquet games in the tennis courts, plenty of games, music and entertainment throughout the day and lots more.

Proceedings kick off with the opening at 11am with Dr Alan Whitehead. For more details see the poster below.

The Recreation Ground is at the top of Brickfield Road, and can also be accessed off Wellbeck Avenue and Kitchener Roads.
