Southampton Ukulele Jam at Portswood fun dayLocal musicians and performers are being invited to volunteer a 30-minute set for the community festival being planned for May 13 at Portswood Rec.

As reported, the festival celebrates the five years since Portswood Rec was designated as a ‘Field in Trust’ site ensuring that it remains the centre of the community.

The charity event will run from 11am until 4pm, and is funded by the National Lottery Celebrate England fund.

Organisers say a simple PA system will be available for performers to use, considering of: 2 speakers, a mixing desk, 2 fold back speakers with amp, 2 vocal microphones’, 1 DI box and a connection for an Ipod or similar.

As well as music, the plan is also to include various other activities such as games and art and crafts.
