Police are appealing for witnesses after someone apparently tried to get in to a student house on Belmont Road in Portswood between 6 and 8pm on September 29.

They say a bay window was forced, but it’s not clear whether anyone actually entered the house and took anything.

PC Sam Woodley said it’s possible the perpetrator(s) was disturbed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Woodley on 101, quoting 44160368998, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police are urging the public to take heed of crime prevention advice to secure homes – security tips are online here.
